A Stutzen has never been so versatile

Already more than a hundred years ago, shortly after Mauser had started to produce bolt action rifles, a Stutzen had been part of the product range. Today, Mauser picks up this tradition and now launches a Stutzen version of the bolt action rifle M 03 surprising with utmost flexibility. The M 03 Alpine will especially appeal to connoisseurs of classic rifle design. A subtle hog back stock with double fold bavarian cheek piece, re-shaped pistol grip and an elegant drop point for-end characterize the elegant lines. The decoration also includes extra fine fish scale chequering and ebony caps on for-end and pistol grip to give this rifle its unique feel. The M 03 Alpine is exclusively produced in select grade 5 curl wood. All M 03 barrel and engraving options are available with the Alpine stock.
The Alpine stock is part of the M 03 modular system and can therefore be combined with all barrel and engraving options in the M 03 program. A left hand version is available at extra cost.

The M 03 has always featured a lockable magazine catch to prevent potential loss when out in the field. Taking this concept a stage further for 2008 is the new Mag-Safe. Though inadvertently losing your magazine is never a good idea, the thought of this happening when you are tracking a wounded animal or up against dangerous game is unthinkable.
Unlike the original design that used an Allen key to disable the magazine release catch Mag-Safe does away with all this. Mauser now offers a tool-free, simple and practical design that takes seconds to use.
A rotary button is integrated into the magazine release catch and a simple quarter turn locks and unlocks this control quickly and easily. This really will give peace of mind for those situations where you need to be concentrating on the action. Plus the speed of the movement from locked to unlocked will allow a magazine change if required, too. This is a most practical advance over the original concept.
Mag-Safe comes as standard in the new Mauser M 03 Trail but will be available for the entire M 03 range at extra cost. Current M 03 owners can upgrade to this new system retrospectively.

To compliment the new M 03 Trail for tracking and driven hunts, Mauser will be introducing a new rifle sling in fluorescent orange with a black hemline. The sling is adjustable in length and is made of non slip neoprene. It is specifically designed to add to the already highly flexible set up of the Trail rifle. Additional storage space in form of two pockets for spare bullets, muzzle patches and other small accessories can be found towards the bottom of the sling. The Mauser logo is embroidered in black on the top pocket.
The new sling is available as of May 2008.

The Muzzle-Safe system was developed as part of the M 03 Trail concept and constitutes a useful feature for all M 03 rifles.
This muzzle protector prevents any moisture or foreign objects entering the barrel when stalking. A high visibility, orange coloured polymer patch fits into a special recess in the muzzle where it is held secure. In the heat of the moment it can simply be shot out of the way. Alternatively it can be manually removed prior to firing and then be re-used.
Muzzle-Safe is so obviously useful that it is also available for all
M 03 barrel options at extra cost. All spare barrels and M 03 rifles ordered with the Muzzle-Safe system will have 25 spare patches included upon delivery.

The rifle sling De Luxe is soft, flexible and designed to compliment the Mauser M 98 and the wood-stocked M 03 rifles.
Made of brown, non-slip neoprene and high quality calf leather, it is length-adjustable, 70 mm (2 3/4”) wide and increases carrying comfort considerably.
The design incorporates two, quick detachable (QD) loops, allowing it to be easily switched from rifle to rifle as required.
Two pockets are included; one holds two spare cartridges, the other small items such as Mauser muzzle patches or batteries for illuminated scopes. The top pocket is embossed with the Mauser logo.

Due to popular demand Mauser have extended their proven line of Double Square (DSM), quick detachable mounts with a Picatinny rail option. Mounting of various red dots or other specialist sights is now possible with this low and elegant design.

To complement the M 03 Extreme, Mauser has designed the infinitely adjustable rifle carrying strap "Extreme". Made from non-slip Neopren, the strap has a generous width of 70 millimeters (2.75 inch) and offers extraordinary comfort. The quick-release fastener prevents accidental opening.

The "Extreme" carrying strap comes with two pockets providing plenty of space for two cartridges, button batteries, ear protection plugs and other accessories.

Proven materials have merged to create a new sophisticated classic. The back of the 10.5 cm (4.1 inch) drop point blade in solid stainless Sandvik 60 HRC steel is partially checkered to ensure a safe grip. The tang is fully embedded in a buckhorn handle and is mounted in a new silver crossguard towards the blade.

The "Classic" hunting knife comes with a handy leather sling and a saddle leather sheath showing an embossed Mauser emblem. Presented in a scarlet box, it makes an attractive gift.

At IWA 2007 Mauser will introduce something that passionate hunters have been waiting for: a highly durable bolt action rifle resistant to even the toughest of weather conditions.

The M 03 Extreme features solid all-steel construction and a high-quality synthetic stock that is completely shatter-proof and noise-absorbing. The stock blends in well with the classic design of the
M 03 and can be enhanced with a silver pistol grip cap, allowing hunters to customize their rifles.

Soft, black coloured inserts at the pistol grip and fore-end ensure a safe grip even in very wet conditions. The characteristic deep pattern on the elastic inserts has been derived from the Mauser logo and adds to the high-quality feel of the M03 Extreme. The sling swivel is mounted at the very end of the fore-end. The resulting reduction in the distance between muzzle and sling swivel ensures greater comfort when the rifle is carried over the shoulder. The stock has been additionally reinforced for a particularly stable installation of a bipod adapter. .

The M 03 Extreme is available in the Africa, Solid and Match variants and is of course available with a true left hand action.

Mauser is expanding the service spectrum of its modular bolt action M 03 rifle with two innovative new model options.
Just in time for the 2007 hunting season Mauser is introducing two new variants of the successful Mauser M 03, increasing the versatility of this rifle even further. One of these new models is the M 03 Solid. This rifle will impress the shooting community with its perfect balance of solid steel construction and increased barrel diameter.
The rifle was constructed with long distance shooting and driven hunts in mind, which often require a steady “swing” and “follow through” through fast moving targets. The heavy barrel is the perfect aid for this technique. Full-steel adjustable open sights come as standard on the M 03 Solid, which is available in standard length or with short barrels. The Solid barrel is also available as an interchangeable barrel.

Along with the launch of the M 03 Solid bolt action rifle, Mauser is offering hunters the option to reduce the barrel length in all M 03 versions down to 500 mm (19”) in standard and mini calibres. The barrel contour remains the same.

The reduced barrel length makes the M 03 a compact and versatile rifle for physically demanding hunts, improving mobility in narrow high seats and dense woodlands.

The extra-short barrel is available at extra cost as of May 2007.

Mauser’s new lightweight cotton cap with lateral vent holes offers comfortable protection from the sun during warm seasons. A sweat band on the inside bears the Mauser logo, while the exterior features the Mauser coat of arms embroidered in silver on the front. Reflector piping on the visor ensures that the hunter is well-visible. Made of tight cotton. Available in brown. One size (adjustable).

Mauser signal red fleece cap

Safety is always a top priority. Mauser’s bright signal red fleece cap is extremely visible even in the most densely wooded terrain. The fleece lining is warm, lightweight and fast drying. A black Mauser emblem is embroidered on the visor, and a Mauser logo is discreetly engraved on the metal size-adjusting clasp.

Experienced hunters know that a well shaped cheek piece is essential for rapid target acquisition through a rifle scope.

The M 03 is now available with a fully adjustable comb. From a neutral position the comb can be adjusted 2 mm downwards, up to 12 mm upwards, and up to 6 mm to both sides.

The comb is cut out of the original stock to ensure continuity in the grain of the wood. This way the rifle maintains its elegant visual appearance.
