The M98 „Big Five Europe“ was inspired by the Mauser M 98 Magnum “Big Five” in Magnum calibres for African game. Our master engravers achieved to give this gun a truly European feel. It was dedicated to hunters in European territories with its portraits of typically European animals.
The unusual arrangement of ornaments consisting of Oak Leaf, Ferns and Thistles is spread generously across the entire action, trigger guard, bolt handle and the pistol grip cap. The centrepiece of this engraving can of course be found on the magazine cover with the stunningly detailed portraits of Red Stag, Boar, Chamois, Mufflon and Roe Buck framed by a typically European Fauna. A subtle gold inlay is added to the barrel just forward of the action, which is bedded in a hand selected grade six walnut wood.
The action and exposed moving parts are silver nitrated for additional effect and contrast of this magnificent artwork.
